Mercury in Capricorn

Mercury, how you think and speak, sits in Capricorn — a cardinal earth sign, practical and quick to initiate, ruled by Saturn, the planet of structure. You tend to think in steps, testing an idea for load-bearing strength before saying it aloud. Useful, slow, durable. The cost is that half-formed thoughts rarely get air, even when they'd be worth hearing.

With other people

With people, Capricorn Mercury often shows up as the one who remembers the details and follows through. You say less than you feel, and trust builds through reliability more than disclosure. Friction comes when someone reads your careful pauses as coldness, or wants reassurance sooner than you've decided it's true.

The growth edge

Capricorn holds none of the classical dignities for Mercury — no rulership, its own sign, no fall, the sign opposite its exaltation — so nothing here is fated either way. The question is where restraint serves you and where it just delays contact. What would it cost to speak something before it's finished? Sometimes less than the silence does.
