Saturn return calculator
Enter your birth date and place, and your birth time if you know it. We find every day Saturn crosses the place it held when you were born, through your first three returns, and the house the return falls in.
What a Saturn return is
Saturn takes about 29.4 years to go once round the zodiac, so it comes back to the place it held at your birth at about 29, again at about 59 and at about 88. Astrologers call each of these a Saturn return, and read it as a time to review what you've built and what you're responsible for.
Seen from Earth, Saturn appears to move backwards for about four and a half months a year. If that loop falls over your natal Saturn, Saturn crosses the point three times: forwards, backwards and forwards again. Otherwise it crosses once.
An orb is how close two points must be for astrologers to count them as touching. We list the exact crossings, and a near pass where Saturn turns round within one degree without crossing.
How this is computed
Natal Saturn comes from your birth chart, computed by our engine in the tropical zodiac. We then find every moment Saturn's position equals it in each return, splitting Saturn's path at the points where it turns round so no backwards loop is missed. Our Saturn positions agree with Swiss Ephemeris to within 0.004° from 1900 to 2150, and the passes for 30 test births match it. A date is printed to the day only where that accuracy supports it.
