Mercury in Scorpio

Mercury in Scorpio puts your thinking in a fixed water sign — steady, deep, slow to move. You tend to read past the surface of what's said, tracking motive and subtext. Scorpio is ruled by Mars traditionally and Pluto in modern practice, and Mercury holds no special dignity here: no built-in ease, no handicap.

With other people

With people, Mercury in Scorpio often withholds a little until trust is established, then speaks with disarming directness. You may notice what someone avoids saying. That perceptiveness draws others close and can also unsettle them — being accurately seen is intimate. Friction usually comes from the gap between what you've observed and what you choose to voice.

The growth edge

Scorpio is a fixed water sign, steady and deep-feeling, and that steadiness in your Mercury can turn a working theory about someone into settled fact. Worth asking: when you sense a hidden motive, do you test it or store it? You can keep the depth of perception and still hold conclusions loosely — checking, out loud, rather than deciding privately.
